Now six-year-old Koa has fallen in puppy love with the kits, which were born some time around Easter.
Owner Tina Chase and her family, from San Francisco, help care for them.
She said: ‘Koa is like their surrogate mother. They hop all over her and always find their way to the crook of her leg and find warmth and shelter.
‘Koa has never been a mother so she thinks these are her puppies.’
The  family say they plan on releasing the bunnies back into nature - or  giving them to a nature reserve ‘because they are so tame now’.

Now six-year-old Koa has fallen in puppy love with the kits, which were born some time around Easter.

Owner Tina Chase and her family, from San Francisco, help care for them.
